Simon Gerrit De Graaf (23 May 1889 – 22 December 1955). De Graaf is best known for his Verbondsgeschiedenis (1936–38), which was translated into English by H. Evan Runner and Elisabeth W. Runner. The books exemplified a redemptive-historical approach to interpretation. He was influenced by J. C. Sikkel (1856–1920). He was influenced by J. C. Sikkel (1855–1920), a prominent follower of Abraham Kuyper.
He was a good friend of D. H. Th. Vollenhoven, and was one of the founding members, together with Dooyeweerd, Vollenhoven, and Janse, of the Association of Calvinist Philosophy.
De Graaf was a Reformed minister. His first pastoral charge (1913–1917) was the Gereformeerde Kerk, Oosterzee (Friesland). From there, in 1917–1919, he was at Heerhugowaard–Sint Pancras. There, two congregations were combined and shared one minister. He then served the Gereformeerde Kerk in Rijswijk (Zuid-Holland) until 1923, when he was called to the Gereformeerde Kerk, Amsterdam, where he served until his retirement in 1950.
