Michael R. Wagenman

Michael R. Wagenman (PhD, University of Bristol) is Senior Research Fellow and Director of the Scripture Collective at the Kirby Laing Centre for Public Theology in Cambridge (UK). He serves as the chaplain and professor of theology and culture at Western University in London, Ontario, Canada. And, he teaches courses in Religion and Theology at Redeemer University.

His academic research is focussed on developing a comprehensive, multi-aspectual, non-reductionistic theological account of the power of civic institutions. In light of the real and serious accounts of church/clergy abuse, he has given his primary attention to the power of the church, both in its institutional and organic modes of being. He is attentive to the forces which transform Christian proclamation into propaganda, the role of Christian faith in society/culture/academia after the “Death of God,” and interpreting the rise of psychedelic rock in the mid-1960s as a prophetic critique of society.

He contributes regularly to The Banner, and the Christian Courier. His most recent popular article on Kuyper is “Abraham Kuyper: Cancel or Celebrate?”

There is an interview with Mike here.
