Michael F. Heyns

Michael F. Heyns was born 12 December 1961 in Germiston, South Africa. He studied Philosophy at the Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education, and Theology at the University of Pretoria. He obtained a PhD in Philosophy from the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam under supervision of professor Johan van der Hoeven. He taught Philosophy at the University of Zululand (1990-1992) and the Pothchefstroom University of Christian Higher Education, which later became known as the North-West University (1992-1919). He was director of the School of Philosophy at the North-West University (2009-2019) and is currently the vice-rector academic affairs of AROS (Akademie vir Reformatoriese Opleiding en Studie – Academy for Reformational Training and Studies, i.e. a reformational-Christian higher education college in Pretoria, South Africa).
